An inclusive cultural education project that focuses on intagible heritage and the exchange between Limnos (Greece) and Oslo (Norway).
The project is coordinated by Places and Traces.
Drawing inspiration from bread culture and its significance within the community
as well as utilizing the partners’ expertise in education, intangible heritage, and the environment, the project emphasizes the use of ancient and traditional seeds, the importance of bread making and consumption within the community, and the equipment and techniques involved.
In collaboration with Project partners Fragment and Sanke, Places & Traces will focus on
preparing and implementing a series of activities that will take place in Limnos in spring
2025.
These activities include
an experiential workshop
for adolescents from schools in Limnos, including students with disabilities
a workshop for the general public
on bread as a living tradition and a meeting point of cultures, sustainability, and climate change
a
structured exchange
with the local community to showcase bread-making methods and beliefs from Limnos
a meeting
to transfer knowledge on the institutional framing of grassroots collective initiatives and the integration of bread culture into the educational process
The project further includes the creation of accessible educational materials for students with learning disabilities. Loaf Stories is funded within the framework of the EEA Grants 2014-2021.
