The ‘Loaf Stories’ project is designed and coordinated by AMKE Places & Traces, with partners Fragment (Community Activation Partner) and Sanke (Scientific Documentation Partner) from Norway. The project benefits from a funding from the EEA Grants (funding period 2014-2021), which represent the contribution of Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway towards a green, competitive and inclusive Europe.

Places & Traces

Places & Traces is a non-profit organisation based in Athens, Greece, active in the fields of educational, cultural and social innovation, founded in September 2021. Its activity includes, among others, the design and implementation of projects and actions promoting place identity, active citizenship and the reinforcement of community bonds through an interdisciplinary approach and continuous interaction with local urban, natural and sociocultural ecosystems. To support the above, Places & Traces seeks cooperation with social, cultural and educational stakeholders of the public and private sectors, including schools, Higher Education institutions, local authorities, youth organisations and other third-sector actors with a similar approach.

Sanke

Sanke is a website and app developed by Fragment in collaboration with The Norwegian Association for Mycology and Foraging and partners in digital development and design. It serves as an educational tool for identifying edible weeds in the city while also working
with the City of Oslo to map public fruit trees. The app includes recipes, a calendar for foraging walks, and other events. Sanke has gained significant attention in Oslo, featured in major newspapers and national media. It also develops smaller projects, such as wild plant- based candy, a children’s book (ages 3–6), and a cookbook documenting community foraging events with chefs.

fragment

Fragment is a small architecture office with four employees, known for its work in resident-driven urban and neighborhood development, several projects involving adaptive reuse and urban life—both for the City of Oslo and national organizations—and innovative timber architecture. The office has contributed to major research projects such as Cultivating Public Spaces, economic models for urban agriculture for Humboldt University,
Berlin, Horizon 2020, and the ongoing European project Inclusive City, funded by DUT Driving Urban Transitions/JPI Urban Europe. The office also runs a small publishing house that has released both in-house publications and books written by others.
